Compression used to mean packing data away — pack it, shelve it, hope you never need it. RISE reduces the data you are still working in, and every byte comes back exactly. RISE would rather tell you it can't than give you something subtly wrong.

Eight kinds of data — LOG · TXT · CSV · SQL · XLSX · JSON · JSONL · RTF — reduced where they already sit. Everything else passes straight through: untouched, uncounted, unbilled.

You only pay for space we actually reduce.

Smaller on disk — and still fully usable

Most compression makes you unpack before you can use anything. With RISE every file restores byte for byte, and in RISE's evaluation demos you can open, edit and save reduced files through a Live or Transparent folder. RISE Reduce does not include those folders today.

HOW IT WORKS

If you cancel a term early

A longer term lowers the licence fee, and only the licence fee. You earn that discount by finishing the term. Leave early and we charge you only for the months you used, at the rate for the term you actually completed — so under 6 months is charged at the monthly rate, 6 to 11 months at the 6-month rate, 12 to 23 months at the 12-month rate. A monthly plan has no minimum term and no exit charge.

Leaving never costs more than staying. The exit charge is capped at the full term at the rate you signed for, so cancelling can never come to more than simply seeing the term out. And your usage is never clawed back — the usage charge on what we reduce is consumed and settled, and no discount ever applied to it. The exit amount arrives as a draft invoice we review, not an automatic charge.

A worked example: {{ ccTierName }} on {{ ccTermLabel }} is {{ ccCommittedStr }} a month. Cancel after {{ ccMonthsStr }} and you have earned no term at all, so those {{ ccChargeableStr }} are charged at {{ ccEarnedRateStr }} a month, or {{ ccOwedStr }} in licence fees. The same {{ ccMonthsStr }} billed monthly from the start would have been {{ ccMonthlyAltStr }}. You have already paid {{ ccAlreadyPaidStr }} of it, so the final invoice carries {{ ccExitStr }}. Nothing above {{ ccCapStr }} is ever owed on that term, whenever you leave.

If RISE is at fault — a restore that is not byte-exact, or the software unusable for a sustained period through our fault — there is no exit charge at all. The binding definition of that test, including how long the software must be unusable for it to be met, is not yet written; this paragraph is the plain-English summary and is not itself the contract. Cancelling ends the licence at the end of the month already paid for, and that month is not refunded. An Air-Gapped deposit is held and settled as the Terms of Service describe under “Air-Gapped deployments”.

No seats. No agents. No sockets.

No per-seat fee. No per-server fee. No per-user fee, no agent count, no socket count, on any plan. What a plan covers is installations, not people. {{ installNote }} You pay the licence and the metered usage charge on what we reduce, and nothing else moves your bill.

One organisation, one account, one plan.

An organisation holds one RISE account on one plan. Splitting one estate across several accounts does not buy extra first bands, extra caps or a lower rate. {{ multiInstallNote }} Every order confirms your work email with a 6-digit code, and before anything is charged we answer on what you have just proved is yours: if a RISE account has already verified your confirmed email's company domain we say so and this plan is added to that account, and if the card you save on Stripe's own page is already used by another RISE account we say so before it is charged. We never tell you whether a company, a domain or a tax ID is a customer on anything you have not proved, and a personal mailbox domain matches nothing. When you are buying for another organisation, that organisation's contact confirms their own email before the licence is issued, so a match there is answered after payment. A match found only after payment puts the new licence on hold while a person decides, within 2 business days; licences already running are never touched.

Where the line falls

RISE pays off if what a gigabyte costs you each month, all in, is more than the usage charge on the same gigabyte-months — storage and its running costs, plus the value of opening and editing RISE files without restoring them. The calculator starts from an estimate of that figure and takes yours instead the moment you type it.

Copies are free: RISE charges once, when data is reduced, and copies, backups and replicas of RISE files are never charged. Reduction still shrinks what you hold on every copy — and, because you then move fewer bytes, everything that carries the data between them shrinks with it.

Below that line our fee is larger than the saving, and no amount of data fixes it. If that's where you are, we'll say so rather than sell you a licence.

There is an upper line too, and we would rather you found it here. Band rates rise with volume, so past a certain size each further gigabyte-month can cost more than it saves you. The calculator returns both ends of that window from your own numbers. If you expect to grow through the top of it, tell us before you sign and we will price the whole estate rather than sell you a plan you outgrow.

What we don't do

Photos, video, audio, encrypted files — anything outside the eight formats above, RISE does nothing to. They aren't counted toward your total and they aren't billed. A large estate often holds a much smaller amount of data we can act on, and that smaller number is the one that matters.

Ask for your download link

The button opens RISE's request page on RISE's licence server. Type the email on your licence there. If that email is on a licence that has passed RISE's checks (a US address, the sanctions check and the current Terms), the link goes to that email. The page answers the same way whether or not an email is on a licence. If a link says it was already used or has expired, ask for a new one the same way.

WHAT YOU GET

There is no installer. Unpack the package file (in Windows: right-click it, then Extract All) and run RISE_Reduce_GUI.exe. It starts in demo mode; your licence activates it.

RISE Reduce is not code-signed, so Windows SmartScreen warns on first run. Check the file before you run it: in PowerShell, Get-FileHash -Algorithm SHA256 .\RISE_Reduce_GUI.exe, and compare the result with its line in SHA256SUMS.txt. If they differ, do not run it; tell us.
